This adrenaline causes our body to feel tense and our heart to race, we start to sweat and we become shaky. These effects are not harmful on our body but can feel quite troublesome.
The causes of the anxious feelings that we experience range from person to person. There are many different types of anxiety which range from panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, specific phobia, obsessive thoughts, compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Some people link fear to stressful situations and traumatic events. These situations have specific sounds, smells, sights and feelings attached to them and people with anxiety can become anxious whenever they are exposed to these senses. These senses remind people with anxiety of a stressful event or situation and can trigger anxious feelings.
